Work-based learning

River Murray Training has been involved in the development of Training Packages, qualifications and writing competency standards since the mid 1990’s. Our staff understand the significance of competency standards in industry and relevance of developing competency in the context of work environment, not in an institutional context. We have seen from experience how having a work context to learning hastens learning by providing relevance and meaningful experiences to students.

 

Our training schedules are designed to fit around the preferences of workplace. Our online training facilitation ensures training is delivered in small chunks, allowing the student time to absorb and apply concepts before moving onto the next chunk. Our focus on development of skills in a work environment mean that evidence can often be gathered from the use of those skills directly for the benefit of the student’s work role and/or the organisation’s benefit. Often the additional time to be spent on developing skills can be undertaken in work time, with the cooperation of the workplace
