High-tech wine training - Wine online
RMT launches high-tech wine training
Wine online modules are designed to complement on-job training. They can be used as part of an accredited training program, for casual staff and for induction purposes.
Modules focus on:
- related knowledge
- significance of the job in the production cycle
- responsibilities associated with the skill
- any concepts associated with the competency
- decision-making associated with the job
Learners are engaged with interactive scenarios, and formative testing of understanding. The online modules are a key component in RMT’s workplace training model and integrate with on-job training and a supervised period of skill development.
Increase effectiveness of on-job training
Wine Online modules have been thoughtfully constructed to support regular on-job training. Before commencing a new skill, have your learner work through the associated Wine Online module prior to undertaking the on-job training. The interactivity engages the learner in the thinking and decision-making processes that are required for the competency. With this prior understanding less time is needed to learning on-job skills and achieving proficiency.
Adds to quality assurance
Now your production managers can control when training happens, and ensure that it is to the same consistently high standards. Supervisors can focus on training in company SOPs and skill development and improvement. Certification obligations such as OHS, HACCP and EMS can be easily demonstrated.
Don’t think your workers are ready for eLearning?
Our Wine Online modules are designed for people with little or no IT skills. Modules are constructed for easy use, in blocks of no more than 30 minutes. eLearning has been shown to shorten learning times compared to workshop or classroom learning, and learners appreciate being able to learn at a pace that suits them.
Streamlined training, training log and assessment
Along with Wine Online, we have introduced the “3 in 1”. It includes an on-job trainer’s checklist, a skill development log, and an assessment tool. The training checklist is an aid for ensuring consistent and detailed workplace training. “3 in 1”s can be customised to workplace requirements. This is an alternative to the traditional log book and assessment tools, reducing paperwork. All training and assessments are to the nationally accredited FDF03 Food Processing (Wine industry) Training Package.
What equipment is needed?
A computer and printer (and in the case of Option 1) internet access. Option 2. will require the LMS to be set up on the intranet (not a difficult option)
Option 1. Wine Online modules can be accessed direct from the LMS in the internet. (LMS – is a Learning Management System)
Option 2. Larger organisations may like to have an LMS on their intranet. Whilst there is an extra cost for this, it allows for learning resources to be customised to your specific requirements. And the LMS can be used for other learning products, for example short compliance courses on OHS, Bullying or Equal Opportunity; and for Induction or re-Induction. The other benefit of an enterprise LMS is for management purposes – tracking learning progress.
Option 3. A module can be copied onto a CD Rom.
