Certified Irrigation installer

Installers quote on, and make a living out of, installing systems and contracting labour. They may work on their own or can be responsible for a team of one or two others. Certified Irrigation Installers will implement current best practice in installation and can recognise and minimise the environmental impacts of irrigation. They may also be responsible for system upgrades, troubleshooting and repairs and maintenance.

Industry experience

On application, you will be actively working in the irrigation industry and already have 3 years relevant industry experience that include:

  • installing irrigation systems
  • preparing for installation works
  • maintaining irrigation systems

Enrolment

You can start your course at any time - there are no semester or course date to wait for. There are two options for enrolment: Firstly you can fill out the enrolment form and post or fax back to RMT or you can fill out the online enrolment form.

Course units

This certification has been aligned with the national irrigation qualifications to provide a standard, accepted way to describe and recognise skills and knowledge. As a Certified Irrigation Installer you will be able to prove that you can at least meet the requirements of 5 of the 6 following competencies:

  • RTE3601A Install irrigation systems
  • RTE3605A Troubleshoot irrigation systems
  • RTE3607A Measure irrigation delivery system performance
  • RTF3503A Sample soil and analyse results
  • MEM9.3AA Prepare basic engineering drawings
  • RTE3714A Maintain and monitor environmental work practices
