Certified Irrigation manager
To become a successful Certified Irrigation Manager you will have responsibility for how water is applied, how much and when. You may be a farmer, farm manager, parks and gardens superintendent or turf manager. You will be expected to be implementing current best practice in regards to water use and irrigation and can recognise and minimise the environmental impacts of irrigation.
Industry experience
On application, you will be actively working in the irrigation industry and already have 3 years relevant industry experience that include:
- operating irrigation and drainage systems
- identifying and troubleshooting problems
- measuring and monitoring system performance

Enrolment
You can start your course at any time - there are no semester or course date to wait for. There are two options for enrolment: Firstly you can fill out the enrolment form and post or fax back to RMT or you can fill out the online enrolment form.
Course units
This certification has been aligned with the national irrigation qualifications to provide a standard, accepted way to describe and recognise skills and knowledge. As a Certified Irrigation Manager you will be able to prove that you can at least meet the requirements of the following 5 competencies:
- RTE4605A Schedule irrigation
- RTE4609A Implement, monitor and adjust irrigation schedules
- RTE4603A Implement an irrigation related environmental protection program
- RTE4511A Develop a soil use map for a property
- RTE4602A Determine hydraulic parameters for an irrigation system
