Certified Irrigation operator

To become a certified irrigation operator you will be working on an irrigation system, responsible for implementing organisational best practice in regards to efficient and sustainable use of irrigation water.

Enrolment

You can start your course at any time - there are no semester or course date to wait for. There are two options for enrolment: Firstly you can fill out the enrolment form and post or fax back to RMT or you can fill out the online enrolment form.

Course units

This certification has been aligned with the national irrigation qualifications to provide a standard, accepted way to describe and recognise skills and knowledge. As a Certified Irrigation Operator you will be able to prove that you can at least meet the requirements of the following 5 competencies:

  • RTE3607A Measure irrigation delivery system performance
  • RTE3610A Operate gravity-fed irrigation systems
    or
  • RTE3611A Operate pressurised irrigation systems
  • RTE3612A Implement a maintenance program for an irrigation system
  • RTE3714A Maintain and monitor environmental work practices
  • RTF3503A Sample soils and analyse results
