Nominal group technique - a tool for communication and focus
This tool ensures all board members have input and can see and track the input of others. It allows a team to quickly reach consensus on the relative importance of issues.
Cause and effect tool - for problem solving
This tool enables members to identify, explore, and graphically display all possible causes related to a problem in order to discover the root cause.
Affinity tool - for team work
This tool allows the group to creatively generate a large number of ideas, organise them in order to understand the essence of a problem and break through to a solution.
Suggestions on how to use Board Talk Tools
We recommend you book the series of 3 sessions. Plan to have a session (takes 45 minutes) at the start of your meeting.
The Facilitator demonstrates one tool/technique per session. It can then be immediately applied during the meeting that follows.
And of course if your Board or team has special areas of need, we can customise a program especially for your environment.
