training and assessment
A training and assessment (TAA) qualifications enables participants to deliver training in an industry area or area of subject matter expertise, and to conduct competency-based assessment in a range of contexts. Workforce development has come of age. More and more businesses are recognising the importance of training in the development of their staff and in the transfer of corporate knowledge and skills. Businesses may seek to do their own accredited training and assessment using nationally recognised competency standards under arrangements with registered training organisations (RTO's).
RTO's also seek the service of suitable qualified industry trainers and assessors to support the programs they offer to industry. In 2004 the TAA04 Training and Assessment Training Package was released which included a new Certificate IV and Diploma. The new qualifications are more rigorous in assessment requirements, and offer an increased range of competencies in emerging learning practices.
