modes of delivery
RMT recognises the demands that are faced by employers and students, and offers courses with flexible delivery, where students are not locked into formal classes at particular times or locations. We provide a range of options to give students access to what, when, and where they learn, and overcome the headaches associated with traditional off-job block training.
RMT’s e-learning options have many advantages for students and employers, including:
- Reduced cost of delivery (time, money, human resources)
- Reduced time it takes to deliver training
- Allows “just in time” learning
- Students can complete activities at their own pace
- Training can be simultaneously delivered to an unlimited number of participants
- Provides an assurance of consistency of delivery across the industry/enterprise
- Allows accurate tracking and recording of individual achievement and competency
- Assists with Training, Quality, OHS and Environmental Management system reporting and compliance
- Raises the IT skill and competence level of employees.
Online delivery
Online delivery provides access to interactive learning materials with a computer, CD-ROMs and the internet. You can communicate with RMT facilitators and other students using email, forums and online chat.
Some programs provide learning via real time virtual classroom, where students attend tutorial sessions at programmed times. This allows students to participate in a class using skype technology without the expense of time and travel.
If you are geographically isolated, you can study from work, home or a local community facility. Units are designed so that students can work at their own pace.
Assessment of underpinning knowledge can be undertaken on-line, but assessment of skills may be required on-job or in a simulated workplace to achieve competency.
On-job training in partnership with enterprise
On-line training is particularly relevant for learning in the workplace, with customised training materials and a training facilitator for support. Assessment is also conducted in the workplace.
Face to face delivery of customised training can be provided to viable enterprise groups.
